Home prices for the metro-Atlanta area declined 7.4 percent in January, according to CoreLogic. The firm said in a statement that if distressed property sales were excluded the drop in home prices would have been 2.6 percent.

The Post Biltmore apartment building, located at 855 West Peachtree Road, has been sold for $51 million. The buyers, Mesirow Financial, have renamed the building Biltmore at Midtown, according to a story on the sale in the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
